Most Interesting Ancient Roman Commemorative Coins to Collect

The ancient Roman were proud of their accomplishments and used coinage as a way to spread news about them throughout the empire. These are three examples of some very historically significant ancient Roman coins. The first one is the Augustus, victory over Brutus. The second one was issued in conjunction with the the third one, commemorating the two capitals of the Roman empire, Rome and Constantinople. Notice these coins don’t have an emperor’s portrait on them. There were of course other commemorative coins, but these three examples stand above the rest. Enjoy!
